Novel Lithium Ion Conducting Polymer Electrolytes for Lithium Ion Batteries
DOE Phase II Contract No. DE-FG03-00ER82998
Develop new class of lithium ion conducting polymer electrolytes demonstrating higher ionic conductivity and improved elastomeric properties over current solventless polymer electrolytes. Overall goal: optimize carbonate-siloxane based lithium ion conducting polymer electrolytes to yield solventless lithium conducting polymer membranes w/ target ionic conductivities greater than 10 3 S/cm in ambient conditions w/ ionic transport proceeding primarily via lithium ions for application in secondary lithium cells.
