Erick J. Schutte

Senior Chemist II

Erick Schutte

Dr. Schutte’s responsibilities at Eltron Research Inc. are centered around heterogenous catalysis and materials research. He has overseen work on multiple Phase I and Phase II grants and is currently involved in research to develop temperature and corrosion resistant coatings for use in hot pipe protection and the development of a cyclic catalytic reformer for hydrocarbon fuels.

Past work included the development of radiation resistant polyimide composites for use in the aerospace industry, development of unsupported POM catalysts for use in chemical looping systems, development of catalysts for the low temperature decomposition of CINCH fuels, and the research and development of a novel form of anodization for magnesium and magnesium alloys.

Dr. Schutte’s research interests include heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis, inorganic and organometallic synthesis, photochemistry, materials science, and environmental remediation.
